Trick 1: Removing urine stains and odors from the mattress

③ When the mattress is dry, sprinkle baking soda on it. Then place the mattress for one night and vacuum it the next day. 


Tip 2: Cleaning mattresses with unknown contaminants
Spray some citrus cleaner and leave it for about five minutes. Then, use a clean white absorbent cloth to wipe up (do not rub) the cleaner you applied. A mild dishwashing detergent can also be used to clean this type of mattress. 


Tip 3: Removing Blood Stains from the Mattress
① Use hydrogen peroxide for cleaning. When the hydrogen peroxide cleaner starts to bubble, apply it to the mattress. This may not completely remove all the stains, but it will help remove the dirt. Make sure to dry the hydrogen peroxide cleaner with a clean white dry cloth.
② Rinse with cold water (hot water will produce proteins that are not conducive to cleaning). Apply meat tenderizer vigorously on the stained area. This will help remove the proteins. Rinse and remove the iron found in the blood. You can also add salt to boiled water and pour the mixed solution into a spray bottle. Use the salt water to clean. This is a particularly effective method for removing fresh blood stains.
③ Prepare a baking soda solution. Put one part baking soda and two parts cold water in a large bowl to mix and prepare the solution. Use a clean cloth to wipe the prepared solution on the stains for 30 minutes. Use a damp cloth to wash off the remaining solution and then use a dry towel to absorb the water on the mattress.
④ Clean with detergent. Mix 1 tablespoon of liquid dishwashing detergent and twice the amount of cold water in a bowl. Soak a white cloth in the solution and wipe the stains with the solution. Gently scrub the stains with a toothbrush and then blot away the stains with a damp cloth. Dry the cleaned area with a cloth towel. 


Tip 4: Removing the smell of cigarettes from the mattress
① Replace your bed sheets frequently. If you smoke, you should do it more often than the average person. This will help reduce the smell of cigarettes on the mattress.
② Use a spray to remove the smell of cigarettes. Spray two large Lysol sprays (one on each side) on every part of the mattress. Then let the mattress dry for one or two days, and then spray two large bottles of "Fritz" cleaner. Finally, cover the mattress with an anti-allergy mattress cover. 


Tip 5: Cleaning a Moldy Mattress
① Place the mattress in the sun to dry. Mold on the mattress is caused by excessive moisture. On sunny days, expose your mattress to the sun to dry it. Try to wipe or clean the mold and decay on the surface.
② Use a vacuum cleaner to clean both the top and bottom of the mattress. Remember to clean the filter bag of the vacuum cleaner after cleaning. This will prevent mold spores from leaking out and affecting your next use.
③ Mix equal parts isopropyl alcohol and warm water. Use a sponge to apply the solution to the mattress. Then rinse it with warm water.
④ Use common disinfectants for cleaning. For example, a disinfectant like Liru can kill any spores. 


Tip 6: Removing Stains Caused by Colored Drinks
① Use citrus-based cleaners or vinegar. Spray these solutions onto the stains or wipe them with a clean white cloth. The acid in the cleaners will help remove the stains.
② Use alcohol. Alcohol is very effective for cleaning stains. Absorb the stains with a clean, absorbent, and alcohol-soaked cloth instead of applying the alcohol directly to the stains.
